Interior Design Company in Cardiff

Future Classics was founded in a pretty Edwardian corner shop in the Penylan district of Cardiff in 1995. Born out of a love contemporary textiles and craft, our aim was to bring to South Wales the most beautiful interior design product that Europe could offer, whilst simultaneously giving a platform to exceptional makers found closer to home. Twenty years on the world seems at times an even crazier place, and our homes have become our sanctuary.

We believe that good interior design is essential to create the haven that our home should be. A place of order and calm, to revive and restore. A place to relax and grow with those we love.

Our practice is customer lead and customer focused. Our aim is to tell your story. We bring our experience in the most efficient use of available space, product knowledge, attention to detail, and our love of pattern, texture and colour.

Our curtains and soft-furnishings are exquisitely hand sewn in our Cardiff workroom, and we call upon a local team of talented craftspeople to realise our design vision. We are happy to simply help chose paint colours, make a Roman Blind, or deliver a full turn key project.

Above all, we hope that our customers enjoy the process, and find great satisfaction in the creation of a perfect backdrop to a life well lived.

Why You Need An Interior Designer

What is Interior Design?

Domestic interior design can be simply defined as the process of turning a house into a home, efficiently addressing the needs of its inhabitants, and effectively reflecting their personalities and passions.

Decorating and equipping a house is not a cheap process, and mistakes can be expensive! Employing a designer should ultimately save the client both time and money, in creating a home which works as beautifully. Mixing high end and high street, family treasures and collections, antiques and artworks, the designer will efficiently source whatever is required to pull a scheme together within a given budget. They will have extensive product knowledge and be able to suggest appropriate furniture, fabrics, lighting, wallpapers and paints to enhance their customers personal style. In addition, many will commission goods or services on the customer’s behalf, to achieve a look which is truly individual.

Everyone can benefit from the input of an interior design professional. Whether one’s home is a rental, a cottage or a castle, an experienced designer can help maximise the potential of a space, respecting the architecture of the building, considering aspect, quality of natural light, and the flow and function of rooms, to help the customer realise their own design vision.

Your relationship with your designer will inevitably be a close one if it is to yield the best results, so it is important to do your research. Get recommendations from friends whose homes you love, and look at the work of a few different designers to get an idea of whose style will be the best fit, and who is most in tune with your ideas. A good designer/customer partnership can produce highly satisfying results, evolving over time as the needs of the household change, and hopefully always proving an extremely rewarding process.
